Management-ready organisation chart

Useful for org chart template, organogram and PowerPoint org chart searches: build the structure live, then export something clean enough for a management pack.

Built for real org chart searches

Build an organisation chart without starting from a blank slide.

TemplatePilot's free org chart builder is for small businesses, project managers, HR teams and change leads who need a clear visual structure without specialist software. Add people and roles, assign reporting lines, preview the hierarchy live and export to PowerPoint, PNG or SVG for sharing with managers, board members or new starters.

The tool runs in your browser so there is no account to set up and no sensitive staff data is sent to any server. Export your chart as an editable PowerPoint file when the structure needs to go into a board pack, or as a PNG image for quick sharing in email or on an intranet.

Whether you are building a company organogram for a management pack, mapping a project delivery team, showing the structure of a new starter's team for onboarding, or recording a temporary change structure, the same workflow applies — add roles, connect them to managers, and export in the format that suits the audience.

Org chart guide

Create a clear organisation chart without rebuilding boxes by hand.

This free org chart builder is useful for small businesses, project teams, HR admin, management packs and change planning. Add names, roles, teams and reporting lines, then export a chart that can be shared as an image or edited further in PowerPoint.

What to include

Use name, job title, team, manager and notes. For vacancies or contractors, use the notes field to mark status, region, workstream or temporary cover.

Common use cases

Build a company organogram, project delivery structure, department chart, management hierarchy, transformation team view or onboarding reference for new starters.

Export choices

Use PNG for quick sharing, SVG for design edits, CSV for people data and editable PowerPoint when the chart needs to go into a board pack or presentation.

Adding the top level first

Start with the most senior role or leader so the hierarchy has a clear root. Each subsequent person is then linked to their direct manager, which builds the chart structure automatically.

Handling vacant or shared roles

Use the notes field to mark a role as vacant, shared between two people, or covered on a temporary basis. The name field can hold a role title even if no individual is currently assigned.

Using the chart for onboarding

Export PNG and send it to a new starter before their first day so they can see who reports to whom and which teams they will be working with most.

How to build an org chart

  1. Add the top-level leader or role first.
  2. Add each person and choose who they report to.
  3. Review the live chart for missing managers or duplicate roles.
  4. Export PowerPoint, PNG, SVG or CSV depending on how you want to use it.
  5. Use the notes field for vacancies, contractors or regional variations before exporting.
  6. Save a browser draft to continue editing on the same device later.

Is this suitable for project team charts?

Where is my org chart data stored?

Can I export a CSV of all people in the chart?

Yes. Use the CSV export button to download a spreadsheet with name, title, team, manager and notes for every person in the chart.
